Fakespot says don't do it!
FakeSpot and Pocket were both incredibly useful
Shutting down Pocket feels like yet another blow to quality journalism, especially longform journalism, that could have a huge ripple effect. Incredibly useful tool for saving things to read later that encourages thoughtful, deep engagement with articles — and incentivizes longform as an art.

Firefox has a new test feature called Review Checker that it says is "powered by Fakespot by Mozilla". If you go on Amazon, it pops open a sidebar, strips out all the suspect reviews on the page & shows you what rating the product would get if the fake reviews weren't there.
It's ... eye-opening.

It changes the process from choosing between 1,000 similar 5-star products to finding the single product among them that actually earned its ratings. Helpful, but a helluva slog when buying a small thing but quality matters to you.
