So my aura lighting (fancyleds) wasn't working with home assistant, so I got one of those zigbee fingerbots to help me and I'm so happy I don't have to futz with the app or come to the TV to turn it on.

They’re called ‘FancyLeds’ it’s a sync kit that copies the colours that are on the monitor, great for watching movies

I really want the Hue setup - but you need to buy the Sync Box and the light strip separately. Fancyleds have a kit with the sync box and the light strip all in one.

The lightstrip was $25, I’m using an Apple 10W USB adapter I had kicking around and the Hue smart plug was the most expensive part of the system at $55.

I initially looked at a Fancyleds HDMI 2.1 sync box and light strip to get the full Ambilight experience. I then looked at the equivalent Hue system, but that was nearly $1,200 AUD (I can get a whole new Phillips TV with Ambilight built in for that!)

@carmichaeldave.bsky.social you once asked me about the back lighting. It’s a much more simple thing now if you care. Just search for HDMI 2.1 Sync Box. The two main ones are Fancyleds which is what I have and Govee is the other. Both are awesome.
