It's kinda sad but also very clear, that AO3 going down has validated what we Olds have been hemming and hawing for half a decade now:
Some of us are in fandom to make friends, and some of you are in fandom to consume content and be able to bully the creators for more of it.

Community fanworkers are the most important people in fandom and get no credit for it. If you want more comments and fandom friends someone has to build the machinery for that - fandom challenges and events, groupchats, reading groups, discussion spaces. It's not gonna happen on ao3 alone.
