It is a rare sight to see Gods produce offspring with the Horses of Graeco. Yet, Anaximander is one of the examples. His father being the God of War, had abandoned him at birth, but held expectations for him. It is his mortal mother who instilled a spirit, one of compassion and mercy. She would tell him tales of his father, Ares. A time before where he may have been compassionate too. Where he did care for the people and didn’t strictly follow the wars of Mortal Land. He’s humble, having worked as a common working horse in Graeco. He knew being a Demigod though, that there would be a time where he’s called upon by the Gods to assist them. ——— His first mission by The God of War - his father - was to travel to the City-State. Diogenes. Find the sorceress Kassandra, and execute her. Fulfill his duties as Demigod and kill a powerful pony before it’s too late. Taken aback, having never killed anyone before, Anaximander pleaded to offer her mercy but was struck by his father. As if he was offended beyond belief. Calling him a disobedient child who lacks the courage to do what needs to be done. He chose mercy to Kassandra. A big risk. For he knows nothing of her, if she had done irreparable choices which would condemn her. But he didn’t care. He cared to give a second chance, to save her from the darkness. A darkness he had internally been dealing with since he was a colt. His relation to Kassandra on this was personal. She relented, the words of Anaximander spoke to her. And she seized all her magic on Diogenes. Exiling herself from her home as a punishment. This choice infuriated Ares. He was cursed to live the rest of his life with mortality. To die a mortal death by Ares. Five years living with this curse gave him permanent scars. When Kassandra redeemed herself to the Gods, they lifted the curse off Anaximander. They argued that Ares’ rash punishment should have been reserved if she failed to change. Not by offering mercy to her.

I ended up changing his armor design. Since Eutimios is from Horaios, he wouldn’t be wearing red and gold armor. I based the redesign off the Athenian Warriors in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey - I so love this game -. Simplified his design in this basefill! This is him with partial armor on The change from red/gold to blue/iron also suits him better imo 😌

(Adrastos is Sparta, like Horaios is Athens!) Forced by his parents when he was a colt, to fend for himself out in the wilderness. The harsh lands guarded by beasts of nature, Melanthios who was abandoned and left defenseless, had no way to get back to Adrastos. And with no help from the gods, he was left to fight for survival. Dealing scars all across his body, a tail which was half chewed and bitten off. And chewed ears, he learned just how merciless the world is. And with no protection, no love and no empathy. It has sent him down a very dark path. One in which his parents punished him with under the guise of “making him strong”. When he finally returned after years of surviving alone, he had to be educated to fit back into society and while his parents were “proud” he survived and proved himself a formidable fighter, Melanthios only sought to kill them and avenge himself in how he was treated. He learned what he needed to, masked his true feelings on his parents until he truly felt ready to do what he had to. When they were both killed at his hooves, the prince - now heir apparent to the throne - became the King. The Adrastans dared not challenge him, for his aggression and lack of remorse put fear into the people. Melanthios’ mentality while horrible for a pony in his position, is at least “understood” in part by the Adrastans for the actions of his late parents. It wasn’t a choice he had, it was something he was forced into. There was no talk of their son, no worry if he may have died. For how his parents led, it was very questionable. But they did love their people, but leaned too far into the old ways to see the flaws it carries. Despite the sympathy, Melanthios’ actions as King may be devastating for the people. He had no positive role model, let alone a role model to aspire to. He could very well be a ticking time bomb.

Kassandra is a reformed villainess who had much faith placed in her ability to change, by the very hero who’d been sent to kill her. Who, rather than do as they were told, refused to kill her. They believe in redemption, not vengeance. This faith opened her eyes to change. She had once been a feared sorceress of Graeco. Representing her compassion and capacity for love, she carries her heart on her sleeve for those she feels deserves empathy and compassion. —————- Lenci knows of her brother’s secret, one of the only people Athen fully trusts to confide in. Athen has expressed to Lenci, that he is afraid to be outspoken of his love for men. He is worried for how his father, the King will react. If he’d be forced to marry a woman to “carry on” the family gene. To be put in a box and expected to be happy. He can’t pretend feelings exist when they don’t. Lenci has shared in her brother’s inability to express himself. Similarly, she feels afraid to express that she is not just a Princess. She is capable of fighting, she wants to do more than sit in the city being just some pretty face. She is not a little girl anymore, and she should not be underestimated. This close bond has allowed them to keep each-others secrets, and find a way to traverse their feelings and aspirations despite their roles as Prince and Princess. She is very supportive of her brother, and has seen how far he’s grown since she was a filly. He has gotten kinder, more loving. She has suspected in looks shared by Athen to Eutmios, that he has strong feelings for him. Always a little sad he couldn’t outright tell him the truth, sad to see Athen’s worry when he’d go off to battle. When Athen finally forced the King’s hand and had Eutimios assigned as his protector, she began to see her brother’s workaround in expressing his feelings - taking a big risk. Not knowing what Eutimios would one day feel about the truth -. It was her own choices that gave her brother motivation to try. She never backed down from her love of archery, so he shall not back down for the love he shares. Regardless of the outcome.

Whirlwind was a victim to a dragon attack in her early years. Led into the forest alone by dragons who had been friendly to her and open for a friendship, Whirl was really being led into away from other eyes. Then came the attack which had blinded her right eye and blasted with fire on her right side of the face after she stumbled back in shock. Left for dead and laughed at for how “weak” and “easy to trick” she was, Whirlwind suffered the tears and hurt in her heart. She was found by a fellow pony not long after and taken to the hospital in one of the pony villages. A betrayal of trust in non-ponies would seclude her. She never knew her parents, but she’s been suspected of being illegitimate royalty due to her wings and horn. Her fillyhood after the attack was met with either mockery from other fillies or fear at her blinded eye and scars. She grew to hate socializing from then on, believing every pony is talking behind her back and see her as a freak because of what happened. She became fascinated with fire, which she didn’t understand at first. Fire is what harmed her, yet something about the flames offered her comfort. Acting out she’d catch things on fire, watching the flames take over what it got to. During this, her cutie mark came in the shape of a whirlwind fire. In an attempt to correct her pyromaniac behavior, she was put into magic studies. And this did keep her away from starting fires. But put her in a worse place mentally. Wanting to become powerful and capable of defending herself as well as enacting revenge against her attackers, she found magic to be the perfect weapon. It wouldn’t be long before she began to dig into dark magics in secret. This slowly corrupted her mind, believing no pony could ever genuinely love her and looks sometimes given by her foster parents, made her willingness to accept she is the only one who could ever truly love herself. For one to see her without it, displays a strong connection to a mortal and that they are important to her. | Draco’s willful and fearless soul had earned the respect of the Demigoddess over time. He is not like other mortals she’s met, nor is he easy to read. | Like other men she’d seen in the past, they seemed guided by basic instincts. Nothing in which stands out to her, they are led by man driven desires. In ways she understands is expected, and doesn’t necessarily fault all men for this. It’s a very mortal reality. | Yet with Draco, he is different. His focus despite being a Warrior and despite being The Crowned Prince, is to his ponies and protecting them from threats. Humble yet fierce. Fierce yet honorable. | Draco is not prideful of war, he doesn’t believe in the “glory” of war. It is a necessity in order to protect his ponies. He leaves empathy behind for his enemies on the battlefield. Regarding his heir to the throne, Draco does not view the Emperor’s Palace as a fortress for himself and to bask in the spotlight of riches open to him. A man whom is committed to lead and serve, one who once struggled to lead now does so with authority. | To Calypsing, Draco is the mortal who is highlighted amongst other ponies. She values his will, his courage and his love for his ponies. Hallmarks of a future ruler that will prosper his kingdom - not exploit it and destroy its values -. Of course like any mortal he carries flaws, she knows this so for when she watched in the skies to see him begin his journey as a warrior and leader. Born to a family who are in the food business, Pepper became familiar with the different cultures associated among the foods he’d watch and one day help to make alongside his parents and older brother. His parent’s food did taste good, but there was always an underwhelming expectation when eating it. It doesn’t challenge the taste buds enough, it’s too safe. As he got into his teens, came his discovery of spicy food. He became enthralled and excited to make his own spicy food dishes. Though, afraid of judgment from his parents he kept this hobby to himself. Giving out free samples to other ponies, to see if they enjoyed the spicy taste. To his surprise, they loved it. It was tingling on their tongues, made them tear a little. But the taste was great, packed with flavorful seasoning and a spicy pepper taste. His talent for using spices gave him a cutie mark. His mane which was originally a dark had got it multicolored with green and yellow to match his love of spicy foods. Pepper has a food stand, “Shaking Peppers”. He distanced from his family’s business to have his own, though his parents weren’t so approving in his methods of cooking. They couldn’t deny it was a success. Finding room to understand that something they don’t personally like shouldn’t mean that every pony misses out on their own tastes because of it. —————— Facts: His favorite type of peppers are: Jalapeño, Habanero & Shishitos He’s asexual and prefers platonic affection. He is a friendly pony, though awkward when it comes to carrying on conversations. He is nerdy about peppers, loves to info dump on the many types of peppers. The texture, Scoville and overall taste. Is unashamed to have a room with pepper decor, he loves the plush Shishito peppers lined up on his dresser. Like his mane, Pepper is vibrant. Upbeat with life, and excited to share his love of spicy food with other ponies and make new friends along the way!
