Thiiiissssss! Absolute pet hate of mine is people saying "you're not fat" when I say I'm fat. To me, the F word is just a description, like "ginger", or "average height". I love my fat self. If you think "fat" is an insult, that's a you-problem.

In particular, I always think that intrapsychic experiences collide with social and cultural experiences and stories, and fatness is particularly vulnerable to this. I have been particularly interested in what anger and rage look like when directed away from the self and toward those social and cultural stories that continue to oppress fat bodies and fat people.

We also have deeply held cultural beliefs about what fat people can do, what their bodies mean, and what they need.
