This reminded me I did a #Fave1975 earlier this year posting an album a day for 30 days. Somehow it seems I omitted this one! Which shows just what an amazing year for music 1975 was. As well as how badly organised & forgetful I am 😉

Joe McPhee: Black Magic Man
Had to find room for this gem! Recorded in the 1970 sessions that produced the iconic Nation Time but not unleashed until 5 years later as the inaugural Hat Hut release. Masterful modal free jazz & improvised magic.

Ivor Cutler: Velvet Donkey
Back in the 90s I lived on a Hackney council estate with Kavus & his then partner Andrea, who introduced me to Cutler's genius. And every time I listen I'm transported back to our hashsmoke heavy lounge, laughing like a loon ❤️

Led Zeppelin: Physical Graffiti
Considered not including this coz I don't really listen to Led Zep these days. But then I put it on. And of course it's great, arguably their peak, despite (or maybe because) of its sprawling array of influences & souped up outtakes.
