i think the shape of the panic will be determined by what sets it off, and that seems to me quite random and impossible to predict

There was an increased level of checks at Singapore in Feb2020. I think due to their understanding SARS they knew the potential of COVID. In the U.K. there seemed to be a down playing of the potential of the problem, with phrases such as flu like symptoms.

I found the experience of returning to the U.K. very surreal after SE Asia in Feb2020.No checks at Heathrow, compared to temperature checks in Singapore and Thailand.Even a month later, still no checks or controls in place. Friends and relatives completely unaware of the seriousness of the situation

I came back to U.K. from SE Asia in Feb2020, having experienced how serious they were taking the pandemic. It was like being in a film where you are the only person aware of the danger and all around you looked at you as if you were mad when explaining the dangers. All down to government complacency
