I just installed the @atpassport.net Firefox extension and managed to log into a website using FedCM in Firefox using my own PDS.
This is insane, I had no idea this was possible at all, and gives a whole opportunity for us to implement FedCM in Firefox (and maybe even Safari?).

Wow, no way!
I just installed the @atpassport.net Firefox extension and managed to log into a website using FedCM in Firefox using my own PDS.

Right now the user must either enter their PDS or handle within the app, what will it take to use FedCM to automatically present a list of atproto identities on login?

it IS FedCM, but they also have a browser extension to help when the device doesn't support it (existed long before they made it compatible with FedCM btw)

Facebook just recently exposed themselves as a FedCM IdP!!

But actual FedCM can issue you a credential so you don't need to do that OAuth dance you normally need to do.

Under the hood, this is powered by FedCM. Please note that for this feature to work, individual apps will need to add support for @passport's FedCM. 🛠️
