🆕CORAL: Towards Autonomous Multi-Agent Evolution for Open-Ended Discovery

Ao Qu, Han Zheng, Zijian Zhou, Yihao Yan, Yihong Tang, Shao Yong Ong, Fenglu Hong, Kaichen Zhou, Chonghe Jiang, Minwei Kong, Jiacheng Zhu, Xuan Jiang...
Large language model (LLM)-based evolution is a promising approach for open-ended discovery, where progress requires sustained search and knowledge accumulation. Existing methods still rely heavily on fixed heuristics and hard-coded exploration rules, which limit the autonomy of LLM agents. We present CORAL, the first framework for autonomous multi-agent evolution on open-ended problems. CORAL replaces rigid control with long-running agents that explore, reflect, and collaborate through shared persistent memory, asynchronous multi-agent execution, and heartbeat-based interventions. It also provides practical safeguards, including isolated workspaces, evaluator separation, resource management, and agent session and health management. Evaluated on diverse mathematical, algorithmic, and systems optimization tasks, CORAL sets new state-of-the-art results on 10 tasks, achieving 3-10 times higher improvement rates with far fewer evaluations than fixed evolutionary search baselines across tasks. On Anthropic's kernel engineering task, four co-evolving agents improve the best known score from 1363 to 1103 cycles. Mechanistic analyses further show how these gains arise from knowledge reuse and multi-agent exploration and communication. Together, these results suggest that greater agent autonomy and multi-agent evolution can substantially improve open-ended discovery. Code is available at https://github.com/Human-Agent-Society/CORAL.

For Zhuang's grandson Liu Fenglu #劉逢祿, we have 曾亦's recent 從素王到真王 and 吳龍川's 劉逢祿《公羊》學研究. Wu's study is decent and although I haven't had time to read the first book yet, Zeng is usually a safe bet. 張廣慶 has also compiled a good biography: 武進劉逢祿年譜. #ChineseThought

Studies at the Academy of Education and the Arts in Hellongjiang Province, Harbin, studies of sculpture with Christa Biederbick, University of Mainz Graduate of the Kunsthochschule Berlin, Weißensee Study of sculpture and design, University of the Arts, Berlin, master student with Prof. Wolfgang, Petrick Training at the Kunsthochschule Burg Giebichenstein, Halle an der Saale in sculpture and jewellery design Feng lu lives and works in Berlin. Since 2001, the artist has shown his works in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is represented at major art fairs, such as Art Basel Miami Beach or ART.FAIR, Cologne. Feng Lu does not tell stories in his sculptures, but connects fragments of situations, memories and world events to a critical look at society and man. He hardly omits a social question. His characters process themes such as power and money, again and again religions and of course interpersonal relationships, especially between men and women. He takes human action into the distorted mirror of his bitterly evil irony. Funny and colourful, playful and frivolous, his figurative sculptures come across in artisanal perfection. All are made of epoxy resin and painted meticulously and in detail in oil paint. Despite all z. T. surreal composition of his sculptures, despite all the grotesque in his assemblages, his animal, human and half-beings always have his own poetics, which makes them appear frighteningly alive, the closer you get to them Unexcited in his bizarre sculptures he refers to the parallels of social and individual action and unmasks man in a humourous and empathetic way as a drive-driven being. 93047 PHONE: 0041/57856

🆕Agentic Context Engineering: Evolving Contexts for Self-Improving Language Models

Qizheng Zhang, Changran Hu, Shubhangi Upasani, Boyuan Ma, Fenglu Hong, Vamsidhar Kamanuru, Jay Rainton, Chen Wu, Mengmeng ...
Large language model (LLM) applications such as agents and domain-specific reasoning increasingly rely on context adaptation -- modifying inputs with instructions, strategies, or evidence, rather than weight updates. Prior approaches improve usability but often suffer from brevity bias, which drops domain insights for concise summaries, and from context collapse, where iterative rewriting erodes details over time. Building on the adaptive memory introduced by Dynamic Cheatsheet, we introduce ACE (Agentic Context Engineering), a framework that treats contexts as evolving playbooks that accumulate, refine, and organize strategies through a modular process of generation, reflection, and curation. ACE prevents collapse with structured, incremental updates that preserve detailed knowledge and scale with long-context models. Across agent and domain-specific benchmarks, ACE optimizes contexts both offline (e.g., system prompts) and online (e.g., agent memory), consistently outperforming strong baselines: +10.6% on agents and +8.6% on finance, while significantly reducing adaptation latency and rollout cost. Notably, ACE could adapt effectively without labeled supervision and instead by leveraging natural execution feedback. On the AppWorld leaderboard, ACE matches the top-ranked production-level agent on the overall average and surpasses it on the harder test-challenge split, despite using a smaller open-source model. These results show that comprehensive, evolving contexts enable scalable, efficient, and self-improving LLM systems with low overhead.

I’m still mad at myself that I didn’t buy this & donate it to the #AGO

Saw it in Regensberg, during the first #MuricunRegime

May I suggest a doorbusting offsite exhibition of #TrumpRegime critiques?

At the least, somebody commission another #FengLu piece for the #ArtGalleryOntario…
