#fiberuarychallenge 🧶
In an effort to read more, I bought this lap book holder a few months ago so I can knit and read a physical book because I don’t always like the readers of audiobooks.
Bonus- my pattern holder fits nicely on top. Lulu slipover coming along nicely!

I guess it works for Sunday Funday too. Gauge is spot on so I’m casting on a Lulu slipover by PetiteKnit with this gorgeous Nutiden yarn in Sticka color. Oh how I’ve missed knitting with Nutiden 💗

Day 7: Mood Booster
IYKYK - The intoxicating sheepy smell of Nutiden yarn is a total de-stressor.
I realized today that what’s been missing in my recent knitting is having some Nutiden on the needles. Or at least winding it up 🧶

I remember when I used to be able to knit a sweater in a month. Nowadays, I’m just trying to finish WIPs from the last 7 years. Finishing or frogging has helped me feel more in control over my endless knitting queue. That & destashing!

Monday night: Here’s a pillow mod I’m working on for Lucie🧶 I have a bunch of these knit hearts waiting to be made into a garland. I’m gonna stitch a few onto this pillow- hopefully before Valentine’s Day 💖

As for knitting 🧶 I’m looking forward to getting off of sleeve island!

Here’s a screen grab of me wearing my wool & honey sweater in a @knitcircus.bsky.social gradient. I need to take a better picture 🤦♀️

I finished this tunic last year, but it’s too short. Just pulled it out to try and lengthen it. And a shot of my new #knitting #crochet #Coffee #reading nook

Day 7 - Mood Booster
Today's mood booster after a long week was a spontanous dinner with a friend. Now my belly is full with delicious pho. I didn't take a pic of the food so here's one of Sylvie, the studio cat. She's a mood booster too.

Day 6 - Pop of Colour
The main colour in the Prairies is still some kind of white or grey and colours are more than welcome. One thing I'll probably never get tired of is a good rainbow and one of my favourites from last year is the combo of hot pink and red.

Day 5 - Work in Progress
I'm still working on my Silver Sands shawl, fixing the bind-off that ended up too tight despite a bigger needle size. In the meantime, I knitted myself a new Pussy Hat. One 100 gram skein of bulky merino yarn used up all the way.

Day 4 - Inspiration
Inspiration can be a loaded word & it sounds cliche when I say "It's everywhere." With dyeing, there are no limits. Nature, streetviews are classic. I also have synesthesia, where senses cross. It's been mainly numbers but it also works with music.

Day 3 - Monday Morning
The Prairies are in a cold spell right now and that meant bundling up to the brim (it was -26C today). I am wearing my worsted weight Clapotis I made in a retreat colourway from 2008 and one of the original Colour-Me-Happy Hats made by Lucy.

Day 2 - Looking Forward
Thinking about looking forward is hard right now, particularly with the events this weekend. These new tariffs will definitely have an impact on tiny businesses like mine. For now, I'll keep going, one gradient at a time.

Day 1 - Hi!
I'm Annekatrin, the dyer behind Little Barn Studio.
Lifelong multi crafter. I learned how to crochet and knitting as a kid, added spinning, dyeing, weaving, recently picked up crochet again. Never stopped.

Ok, many, but this one is getting so close to the finish line. It’s my Beloved Ghost shawl, with yarn from @knittinglizard.bsky.social and I love it a lot
