Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) is all set to test his mettle against the pound-for-pound king, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) on September 13. The showdown labelled, “Once in a Lifetime,” will see Crawford considerably go up in weight to face the undisputed super middleweight champion Alvarez. However, this might just not be enough, according to Gennady Golovkin’s coach, Abel Sanchez. Talking to FightHype, Sanchez questioned Crawford’s skillset ahead of the fight and stated that he might not be able to overcome Alvarez’s natural size advantage.

Shakur Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) and Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) have gone from friends to being at warring ends. But what went wrong? Stevenson is just as confused as everybody else. Ukrainian heavyweight Alexander Usyk has explained his decision to relinquish all his championship belts. In an interview with FightHype, Usyk, a three-time undisputed world champion, stated that it was time to give the next generation of boxers a chance. Usyk acknowledged that he once waited for his opportunity to fight for titles himself, so he understands those currently in line. He saw no point in holding onto the belts, as he wanted the heavyweight division to continue progressing. He also mentioned that he is still training and plans to have his final fight.

Promoter Oscar De La Hoya has continued to frame the situation as routine negotiation. Speaking to Fighthype, he stressed that talks have been active for months and remain ongoing. “We’ve been in negotiations with DAZN for quite a while now,” De La Hoya said. “We’ve had a great relationship with DAZN, and we’ve put on some great events with them. There’s no reason why that relationship should end.” De La Hoya added that discussions began well before the contract expired. “We started back in October, November, even in September of last year,” he said.

Trainer Derek Ennis says the situation is simple. Jaron Ennis is ready to fight Vergil Ortiz Jr. The contract from their side is already signed.
