When house hunting in 2016-ish, 4+ sharers meant landlords had to install firedoors. Apparently now that applys to 3 + people, so landords just started to refuse to rent to sharers, even for 4+ bed properties. 🤬

And perhaps to use fire retardant materials and effective firedoors... oh and from committees I've been on with fire services... sprinkler systems are amazingly effective.
As I understand matters, the main requirements are not to cover the building in highly flammable cladding and to provide adequate alarm and escape procedures.

Another guy we fired because he failed to report a mechanical issue- magnetic door holders that are designed to hold open firedoors and let them swing closed during a fire were failing.
He technically knew about it for months, but he attributed the door always closing on him 'to ghosts'.

i think tomorrow theres an annual gas safety check same fella as before ciaran and i have to pharmacy visit asap tomorrow too, guess what'll be my priority yeah that , and friday theres a firedoors check i think test of my front door , and hospital is my priority to get to. avoid stress they said .
