Climate change has intensified wildfire risks, prompting the development of advanced firefighting technologies. Spain and France have faced unprecedented wildfires, with over 741,000 acres burned and hundreds of thousands evacuated. Spain declared a national emergency in Madrid and Ávila, while France experienced record-breaking fire seasons. Innovations like Ecofire, a biodegradable fire suppressant, and Predifire, an AI-driven early warning system, are being tested. SenForFire and the Wildfire Assessment Model use sensors and satellite data for real-time monitoring. Public tools include emergency apps and real-time wildfire maps. These efforts aim to enhance prevention, detection, and resource allocation amid escalating climate-driven disasters.
