when i grow up i wanna go to nuke school and learn things like total cross section equals elestic scattering cross-section plus inelestastic scattering cross-section plus alpha emission cross section plus gamma emission cross section plus fission cross section plus

Again, why are we going to war with Iran over enriched uranium??

The fission core (the nuclear trigger) of EVERY nuclear weapon in the U.S. arsenal is plutonium-239 not uranium-235.

Concerns over Iran’s uranium enrichment is a red herring.

Something isn’t right here.

You could also have a command like /fission p1 p2 p3 that takes the last N messages from p1, p2, and p3, dumps them into one of the created channels, and tags p1-3

Deal the fission predominantly

This is true.
I was there.
Trust me, bro.

Not long afterwards, Trump visited the secret base for The Manhattan Project.
Donald knows Nuclear Fission.
Nobody knows it better.

Similarly, there's the 'Kzinti Lesson' from Larry Niven's books:

"A reaction drive's efficiency as a weapon is in direct proportion to its efficiency as a drive."

Any legit fission drive is one helluva weapon!

directly through channels in a nuclear fission reactor. This puts a lot more heat into the hydrogen than simple combustion would, allowing for higher exhaust velocity, making the nuclear engine ~3x more efficient than a chemical rocket with the same fuel capacity.

so true story, (almost) all of the drives in Terra Invicta are based on: real world existing technologies scaled up, historical real world research projects that got shelved, near-future research projects, or logical extensions of known types of fission/fusion reactor designs

comes from solar panels, like the rest of the power on the spacecraft. But the thruster doesn't really care what the power source is, so you could use a small nuclear fission reactor as your source of electricity instead. (And we have flown working reactors! The Soviets used them for radar sats.)
