Fitchburg accepted a portion of a Justice Assistance Grant allocated via the City of Madison; meeting materials reported approximately $84,000 to Madison, about $11,000 to Fitchburg, and roughly $5,000 to Dane County, with Fitchburg intending to use its share for police data analytics software.

Finance Director told the Finance Committee the city expects to borrow about $22 million in 2026, largely to finish a new police facility, and recommended a parameter sale so staff can time the market while reporting results back to council.

After extensive public comment, the Common Council voted to discontinue the city's contract with Flock Safety and amended the resolution to require the vendor to deactivate nationwide-search capabilities within 120 days or when a replacement is activated.
