Back in Cali, seeing a bear flag flying from someone’s car, & it occurs to me that the conclusions that I can draw from that about someone’s politics may have radically changed in the past couple of months. Would really be interested in work on evolution of subnational symbolic patriotism in the US

A lot of pine trees, whale tails, north church lanterns, tall ships, mayflowers, and chickadees. Some lighthouses, minutemen, fish. and of course, some dunkin.
I may get lost is this rabbit hole for a bit…
