flightless birds on an island recently discovered by predators
What an unusual situation: the NYT reports Marshall filmed the ad personally against the advice of his campaign team. Then his staff still refused to air it, so he personally sent it around to media folks to share it: www.nytimes.com/2026/11/01/u...
To close his campaign, Roger Marshall is running a 60-second ad about a central theme of this campaign — how he treated patients.

“We had to keep the lights on, so we occasionally handed accounts over to collection agencies”, he explains.

Lotta flightless birds in American punditry
Bari Weiss's resident hack Ross Douthat made a complete fool of himself on 60 Minutes, trying to claim the Saudi lobby has the same grip on Washington as AIPAC. Abdul El-Sayed immediately crushed him: 'AIPAC spent $33 million against me alone! Name another lobby doing that.' It has to make sense!🗳️🌊

I called them (him and MS Senator) flightless birds on a secluded island where apex predators are introduced and I feel that is accurate

Anyone know any good “Wild Kingdom”-type explanations of the behaviors of this flightless creature?

The fun thing about that interpretation is that it means flightless birds don't really get it.

It is extremely funny to me that the digital edition of Wingspan classifies all flightless birds as having a wingspan of 1cm.

Sure, a roadrunner can take down a cassowary. No problem.

Inktober Days 17 & 16: Contraption & Flightless

I decided to double up for a few of these. A kiwi is using a propeller contraption to get over its flightlessness.

The story in this version is supercharged black turnout in the south killing some flightless birds, big Hispanic swings (outside of Florida) doing a lot of additional work, and "working class whites" (racists) swinging left enough to win us KS and IA but not MT with the Bankhead spoiler.

Today was the day! After 3 years of searching for additional populations of the bizarre late-season moth Coloradactria frigida, I found a large new population today! Time to celebrate!!!!

These seem to be the flightless subspecies of Aurelians which Commander Adreek-Hu belonged to, rather than Klowahkans.

The Perth Museum in Scotland and London's British Museum just restored what is believed to be the only surviving complete example of a kahu kākāpō, a traditional Māori cloak made from the feathers of a New Zealand flightless parrot
