I'll also note that I'm at 60% of my former Twitter followership in just 18 months here (it took me 15 years to get to 200K followers on Twitter). Again, it's an issue of engagement: this place has more.

On bsky, ~30% of y'all are posters compared to the 1% main characters on other platforms. Turns out there's more chattiness & connection when you have algorithmic choice 🤭

I'll also note that I'm at 60% of my former Twitter followership in just 18 months here (it took me 15 years to get to 200K followers on Twitter). Again, it's an issue of engagement: this place has more.
Nominally, I have only about 15% of the followership here as at Twitter.
But I've never believed the Twitter followership numbers, which even pre-Elon included too many dormant accounts, multiple accounts created for harassment purposes, etc.
The totals feel even more misleading these days.

Leaving Instagram absolutely decimated my "followership."

Seconded. Left 11 months ago now, when my followership on Bluesky was a fraction it is now, the engagement here was equal to if not better than what I got on the former Twitter, plus a markedly lower number of cryptofascist shitbags in my comments, which was sure as hell a plus.
I left Twitter a year ago. Had ten times as many followers there, but I get much more engagement here.

Seconded. Left 11 months ago now, when my followership on Bluesky was a fraction it is now, the engagement here was equal to if not better than what I got on the former Twitter, plus a markedly lower number of cryptofascist shitbags in my comments, which was sure as hell a plus.
I recognise that this opinion may cut against the grain for the "everything is better when girls" contingent of this blog's followership, but I feel like making the action-adventure protagonist's obligatory tutorial/exposition-providing bratty little fairy companion a boy is underexplored territory.
