OTOH, something like 80% of pro footballers who were autopsied after their death show evidence of severe brain damage. Kaepernick's courage may have saved his intelligence.

Maybe Mr Ferdinand would like to read up on Eusebio? Widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers ever? Playing for a country that came third in the 1966 World Cup.

Voters love MPs so much more than footballers & rugby players though obviously

Unfair perhaps, but I find it really jarring when footballers appear to have no historical knowledge of the game.

It rather emphasises the existing class divide that most professional cricketers and rowers have a very different background to most professional footballers.

Heard a reference to this on a podcast and I had no idea but it makes me happy!

I want them kicked out of the league and the whole pyramid. I want them so far from the football pyramid, that they're not even in the football Egypt any more.

They denied honest footballers so many victories. Denied honest fans so much happiness.

They corrupted every kid you see in a city top 🤮

Or perhaps the whole market for footballers would be at a lower price, and the whole thing would have turned out the same... with perhaps a few more money grubbers playing in Saudi league.

Darrell Trindall did not use his greatest trick while playing NRL. The man called 'Tricky' has been nominated for The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame for drug and alcohol addiction, traffic offences and alleged domestic violence, and for pulling off one great trick. The Frownlow Medal is awarded to the player whose off-field demeanour epitomises the values of the modern-day footballer and draws attention to the status of footballers as role models to young Australians.

Hull footballers spending too much of their spare time watching Fast and Furious movies?

Having ignored the Man City story (football bollocks), now that there’s a row over Burnham’s comments I’m still struggling to understand why I should give a toss. I guess because I held all the, er, players in such low regard already - Burnham, rich footballers, corrupt Arab dictators etc

Absolutely. How many times have we seen footballers acting badly towards women, only for it to be swept under the carpet? This report dated 2020 - nothing has changed.

Oh... But... Dan Dan Dan Dan, DAN. SIGH. Breathe... Football is Life! Apply rules to it and you end up with VAR! Rules are for losers... and every school kid knows that non-footballers are losers.

PS... Go get them. Do it for all of us x

I don't imagine it is down to the premiership panel to ensure a club and its staff are paying its taxes. HMRC will usually pursue that with the club and let it be known more widely if there is resistance.
HMRC don't tend to give up - ask Rangers or those bankrupt ex footballers in movie investments
