#Forgejo
I'm done hosting forgejo publicly man
someone was hammering it and driving the 95th percentile of request latency to 10s for all my services T.T

yea i think if ever i decide im selfhosting git im gonna go with something competently developed like sorcery instead of forgejo

Would be nice if Codeberg had something like GitHub's `gist` (yes I am aware of forgejo/forgejo!6125)

One day

i respect the forgejo / gitea / gogs devs a lot, sorcery (as it stands) is a vibed proof of concept & you should definitely make your own thing . it's just that the concept that it's proving is kinda awesome

my problem with tangled is that if i didnt care whether potential contributors were able to use it i'd just use self-hosted forgejo

Multitasking a bit, this is going to be a bit slower than usual.

Next: Forgejo update

If you go codeberg/forgejo, you get to implement entirely custom CI!

idea: i develop on my local forgejo instance and that pushes to both codeberg (that i show to employers) and tangled (for oomfs) although if they search my repo names that kind of means theyll see both. hmm
i want to be able to both show tech projects off to oomfs and also have them in my portfolio to show prospective employers but also i do not want employers to easily find this account

i think once private repos come the use case will be far more compelling than using a separate self hosted one (such as forgejo). i like it but the ecosystem around github and such, with actions, containers, everything knowing what github is, etc. is hard to beat

Love the new look!
Once the team is properly rested, I would really love to see a feature that allows me to mirror my repos to other forges (i.e. github)
I could then switch my "source of truth" from my forgejo instance to a self-hosted knot

thinking about migrating my repos from forgejo to an s3 bucket.

Forgejo
My own git forge. Every project on this page is developed in the open on it, with issues, mirrored to GitHub where they belong.

GitHub alternatives, compared: GitLab, Bitbucket, Gitea, Forgejo, Codeberg and Entire (an early-access forge built for AI agents). Pricing, self-hosting, CI, migration paths and the deploy-trigger webhook differences, in one place.

Just use Forgejo instead of GitHub. Since GitHub inserted AI, nothing created there is safe from being copied.
