Next to this, the bottle of FPR "Galaxy Blue" that it's written with and the cheap drugstore fountain pen that was labeled "Splash" before the label wore off. (The barrel is white with a multi-colored design like long ink spatters. The feed part is maroon.)

On the first page of yesterday's Morning Pages, the date/timestamp and doodle have been seriously blurred by an errant forearm. Next to this, the bottle of the ink in which it's written: Papier Plume "Iron Lace" (green-black); and the pen with which it's written: Platinum "Curidas" in smoke/gray, a retractable fountain pen, here displayed in its component parts.

On top of my open Morning Pages notebook, which is displaying yesterday's timestamp of Th.Au27.ce2026 08:51 and doodles, a bottle of Diamine "Chocolate" (the brown color in which the page is written) and a J. Herbin demonstrator fountain pen, pen resting on top of cap (and propped in place by a Logitech M305 bluetooth mouse) . Also in the frame: a 10g sample tin of Vadham's "Fennel Chai"; the base of a Satechi foldable aluminum tablet stand.

On a green table on East & Co.'s patio, the timestamp and doodles starting off today's Morning Pages, with a Sheaffer student demonstrator fountain pen lying across its silver cap on top. Also a little yellow spiral notebook, mostly to keep the pen from rolling off, and the lid of my thermos (ok, Stanley vacuum flask) from which I'm drinking my tea.

Now swatched Odysseus. The Van Dieman shimmer inks really do have a problem with the shimmer settling instantly in the bottle, which makes it impossible to get consistent results. Base colour is a very nice deep teal, shimmer pink-purple.

That's my third Van Dieman shimmer marked in the log book as "do not buy again" because they're horribly dry. I think the entire type can be marked as that now, because we clearly do not get on. It's not as if I don't already have plenty of them waiting. #FountainPen FountainPens #FountainPenInks

On the first page of today's morning pages, time/date Th.Aug6.ce2026 10:05, the "cheap-o drugstore Splash pen" uncapped beside bottles of "asa-gao" (pilot iroshizuku, dark blue) and "Royal Flush" (Fountain Pen Revolution, blue shimmer). Ink on the page shades from a dark blue that's nearly indigo into a softer middle blue.

On top of my Morning Pages notebook, a bottle of Papier Plume's "Red Beans and Rice" ink (the redder end of the red-black spectrum) next to an uncapped opaque red-barrelled Sheaffer Student pen, the kind with the squared off ends. Its cap, lying next to the pen, has long ago lost its clip. Upper left corner of the notebook displays some demonstration scribbles and the date/time notation Tu.Ap21.ce2026 06:16.
