In 1947, Norma Jeane Baker (later Marilyn Monroe) participated in a series of staged 'babysitter' publicity photographs for 20th Century Fox Studios. These images, taken by photographer David Cicero at the home of casting director Roy Metzler, depicted her interacting with Metzler's children in domestic settings. The photos were part of a strategic campaign to position Monroe as a relatable, wholesome young woman entering Hollywood. She was portrayed as an 18-year-old former babysitter with a studio contract, though she was actually 21. The staged narrative contrasted sharply with her later role in the 1952 psychological thriller 'Don’t Bother to Knock,' where she played a disturbed babysitter. The 1947 photos, part of a promotional push for her career, highlighted her innocence and accessibility, creating a stark visual contrast to her later cinematic persona. This marketing tactic exemplifies how studios crafted public images to shape audience perceptions of their stars.

Disney's lease for space on Fox's Pico Boulevard compound in Los Angeles expires next March. The company has no plans to renew its lease and plans to vacate by year's end, Disney insiders said.
