#FrameLab
Super-useful framing (as I would expect from framelab).
"...affordability is a freedom issue, because you're not truly free when you can't afford to live."

Run on Vision, Not Just Resistance: Mamdani's NYC strategy

"Mamdani didn't just offer policies. He offered hope and vision wrapped in specifics."
Mamdani’s NYC Win: Run on Vision, Not Just Resistance
Mamdani won by framing government as care—not just listing policies. Vision beats resistance when voters see dignity in action.

6. Remember: This is a regime. Trump is not acting alone. He is a puppet of powerful would-be oligarchs who want a government of the billionaires, by the billionaires, and for the billionaires. Expose them.

Data Center Don: Trump’s AI Debacle is a Big Opportunity

AI. Crypto. Trump. All three are the same con with different wigs.

New from me in @gilduran.com and @george-lakoff.com’s FrameLab

There needs to be one party that puts people over data.

And it better be Democrats.

Tips to keep democracy alive in 2025:

1. Be Brave. Avoid helpless/hopeless talk. Authoritarians want you to feel powerless because it makes their work easier. Courage, faith, and optimism are essential. Fascism feeds on cynicism and pessimism. Starve it.

Huge thanks to Heather Cox Richardson for mentioning my Nerd Reich newsletter today.

True story: Last week, I was planning to wind down the Nerd Reich because it wasn't thriving like my other newsletter (FrameLab).

But now it has more energy than ever!

Never give up!

Was just listening to reboot of George Lakoff's FrameLab podcast where the guest talks about how Republicans have taken over the word "freedom".

This is a smart move on the part of Harris campaign and Queen Bey, especially since GOP idea of freedom does NOT extend to women and so many other groups.

It's freaky how much Republicans make sense when you read @george-lakoff.com, @gilduran.com, and FrameLab.

Starting a thread about @georgelakoff.bsky.social's 2008 classic, The Political Mind, that I'm reading for the FrameLab book club.

Astounding how many critiques of the Democratic Party Lakoff made decades ago could be made today.

Democrats are the ones who are stuck thinking like the Founders!

I was working on a similar piece for FrameLab, saying fact-checking columns must die in the age of Trump, but this is far more complete.
Trump’s statements are decontextualized, while those from Democrats are relentlessly scrutinized. The result is false equivalencies that normalize Republican liars.
What's wrong with the fact-checkers?
The DNC put the bankruptcy of the genre on full, painful display.

The power to stop Musk will come from the people. That's why Democrats must frame this coup to the public in a way that demands our attention and action. And they also have to do something they hate. They have to repeat the message until it sticks to brains.
