Wild, someone should tell Freightliner, Kennworth and Peterbilt.

Freightliner has 5x as many on the road in California as Tesla
Kennworth and Peterbilt combined are close to Tesla.

Issue hasn't been demand it's been incentives which Tesla gobbled up to make this production feasible.

On the T2 set

James Cameron: …I want more of these gorgeous mechanical beasts. I want to show that chrome gleam, show every hard inch of that chassis, valves pumping like heated breath as servos and pistons throb…

SfX: Got it, maybe we do two T-800’s?

JC: What? No, call Peterbilt and Freightliner

Manufacturing of Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner, and Mack Trucks is highly dependent on a global supply chain, drawing heavily on foreign-sourced parts and materials.

In fact, most everything for 18 wheelers is owned by PACCAR (technically a holding co. that owns not just Peterbilt & Kenworth but DAF & Leyland, which are big brands in EU and UK respectively), Daimler (Freightliner, Fuso, Mack, Western Star), VW (Navistar/International), or Volvo (Mack)
