I tried to buy eggs on FreshDirect for my weekly grocery order and they are OUT OF EGGS and won’t have more for a few days. I’m laughing because, of course. Great choice America! Just stellar decision-making. 🥚 #ThePriceOfEggs

My building caught fire in May and even though I got off easy vs. people in adjacent units who lost everything—luck of the draw, I mostly lost furniture and had to live out of FreshDirect bags for 6 weeks until I got a new place—it was just a profoundly traumatic experience. Even at that small scale
All my stuff got destroyed in a housefire a couple of years ago. You never stop remembering something that was yours is gone. I'm very sorry for everyone who is going through that

I’m not the one to write it but having recently gone through a housing emergency, I’d love to read one of the local sites on how FreshDirect bags became a basic unit of the city’s infrastructure, including for lots of people who don’t order groceries

Why does FreshDirect have eggs for a normal price ($4.29)
It's 15 minutes after opening at Costco and nearly everyone at checkout has max eggs in their carts.
I understand some people may need them for side hustles or whatever. But generally speaking, this is so emblematic of what makes Americans terrible in crisis.
