I’ve really been enjoying these shorter indie RPGs. This and Fretless have been 2 of my fav games I’ve played this year. The writing here is constantly witty. Turn-based is unique and surprisingly challenging. Great game!

fretless or upright only on my fretteds i'd change strings for each show and studio session 🙂↕️ good strings and setup do more to the feel and sound of the instrument than anything else

Tried an unlined fretless bass at the music shop and was objectively terrible. Couldn't even find a note. Salesperson said it sounded amazing and I was struck by an awful notion: has every single compliment ever paid to me by someone trying to sell me something actually been less than the truth?

my first bass at 13 was fretless because grandpa was a jazz man
frets were sanded down by hand
all I have ever played was a fretless bass and honestly don't understand why there are frets on a bass at all
make sure you get nylon tape wound strings for full down low soft thump

My new fretless guitar is coming this weekend and I'm so excited to adapt some of these ballad melodies to that thing. This "silver dagger" one really haunts me.
Working on one of the best singers in the folklore society, Ruby Bowman of Laurel Fork VA. Her version of The Silver Dagger has one of the more unusual melodies out of all the ballads in this collection. The aluminum record is a little rough at the beginning of this one but its really excellent.

New toy on the way... I've been listening to a lot of Joni Mitchell playing with Pat Metheny and Jaco Pastorius has had me wanting a fretless bass. Achievement unlocked with a nice Sadowsky.
