Apple's iPhone Duo, its first folding iPhone, went on sale October 23, 2026, and it shipped with Safari 27.1. WebKit says sites built with standard responsive techniques should work on it without changes. The work for agencies is testing, because one phone now covers viewport widths from 382 to 951 CSS pixels. The Chrome release cycle is now two weeks long. Chrome 153 reached the stable channel on September 8, 2026, and a new major version has followed every two weeks since. W3C published a new WCAG 3 Working Draft on September 10, 2026, and its biggest change is the conformance model. The draft drops the three-level A, AA and AAA ladder of WCAG 2.x. In its place is one conformance level, defined as meeting every core requirement, with reporting tiers below and above it. Firefox ESR 140 receives its last point release, 140.17, alongside Firefox 157 on September 29, 2026. After that the branch is done, and the institutions that pin Extended Support Release move to ESR 153. If you build for nonprofits, higher education, government or libraries, ESR is your real Firefox support floor, whatever your browserslist config says. That floor is about to move forward thirteen versions in one step, which is the largest single day change to a Firefox support matrix in years.

There are more browsers on the market than at any point in the last decade and fewer browser engines than at almost any point in the web's history. Three engines render every page your visitors see.
