I only got like $7, I treated it like "$7 off my purchase!".
it was fun but WOW was it a long drive. lots of slow trucks on back country roads.

Yep. Find a couple of hours to volunteer. I always canvassed sor some candidate, worked the polls in a small town for decades and it was fun. In 2008, I drove people to vote and got to drive an elderly Lakota woman to vote for the first time.

I have been a happy Mazda owner since ~2011. Dependable, good design, fun to drive, and the interiors are swank for the very reasonable price point. (I’m not a Car Person, I just want something to get me from A to B without breaking the bank).

Yes - fortunately I had bought its replacement during a Costco sale last summer. The nice man who helped me says it can’t find it’s hard drive even after cleaning. But 10 years is a good run!! Rooting through 100k photos and reorganizing them is not going to be fun! 🤣

I bought a 2025 Mazda CX-50 hybrid. I love it. Crossover size (biggest car I’ve ever owned) but still manageable. 36-38mpg. Interior is nice and it handles like a Mazda (that is, pretty nimble, fun to drive, easy maintenance, reliable). Hybrid engine (braking regen) is Toyota, so tried-true design.

Because we drive so little and when we do it's for fun stuff like grandparents or camping, for my kids the car is kind of an enjoyable novelty experience, but it definitely wasn't when they were babies, and I can't imagine driving for necessity and how miserable we would all be.

That photo was taken at Orlando AFB, in 1968, soon after getting back from Viet Nam. Car had a Chev. 283 and 4 spd. Was really fun to drive. I still play with British classics.
