GI Joe picture of the day:

Zartan (Funskool 2001 or so) and Desert Trooper (Black Major 2010 or so).
toy photo: against a fall background of fallen pine needles and leaves, and an out-of-focus Ferret, Zartan advances holding his red pistol while a Cobra Trooper covers him with his Dragunov at the ready.

Not terribly crazy. But, my photo naming convention is year+figure name+random number. So, I extracted all the text to see who which figures I've photographed the most.

Unsurprisingly, the 1985 Flint and the Funskool Flint tied for #1 with 49 photos each.

Gave me some other fun results, too.

Funskool variants are, essentially, endless. Here's three very different Hawks: all released in India.

Another 2026 Collection Addition was this 1993 Funskool (India) Battle Android Trooper MOC AFA 70+ which is great for a fragile Funskool card.
The chest is modified where the lenticular sticker is replaced by a regular sticker & clear plastic cover.
This is also the rarer black elbows variant.

When I see this figure, all I can think of is that Hasbro recalled the mold and then never released a full BAT. Had they just left the mold in India, we'd have been buying 100's of $4 Funskool BATs in 2001.

Such a miss....

Just think, if Hasbro hadn't recalled this mold from Funskool in 1997, we'd have been buying these for $4 from 2001 through 2005.

Then, Hasbro didn't even use the mold for the full BAT!
