Day 27: Today's prompt was a lot of fun! Becoming an insect seedbed is a horror niche I haven't explored before, but it appeals to me. Even if serving the colony isn't ideal, I'll learn to love it. :P

Seedbed By Reynard Fakwes Every briefing had ended the same way: If you see resin on the walls, turn back. If you hear chittering, it was too late. Trouble is: all the tunnels looked the same. At some point you made a wrong turn, Got separated from the squad. The darkness fought against the torch, Leaving a narrow beam to follow. You sweep the light, Every wall looks like stone until the light catches it just right. Then the resin shone back. Your heart pounds in your throat, The air was thick and humid. You should turn back - why didn’t you? Instead your heavy boots echo down the tunnel. The radio crackles once, An unhuman scream comes from the speaker, Then dies. Your gut knots as you know what has happened to the squad, Bullets flying at the colony. Screaming. Chittering. What was that? You snap the light around, Seeing nothing but thick mounds of resin on the wall. You can tell you weren’t alone. There were many eyes watching you. Clicking fills the air. To your left, a resin mound twitched. Then another. It was too late. Rigid chitin pinches your chest, Slamming you to the wall. Your knees buckle, leaving you stuck, Glued to the wall. This alien - this insect drone, It chitters in your face, Studying you to decide if you’re host material. A guttural squall comes out its jaws, Its pincers rip the clothing from you, Preparing you for what's next. You remember the briefing, What the colony does to its prisoners, Forcing their mouths open, Treating them as incubators. Your screams were silenced, A warm tube shoved in your mouth, Balls like tapioca being forced in. Settling in your gut, Making it distended. The ovipositor stayed for minutes, Maybe hours - you can’t tell, Before it was pulled out, With nutrient rich jelly drooling out. You weakly look around, Still playing with the fantasy of escape. The nearby mounds shudder. Then moan. It’s only now you truly understand. These were people. Covered in resin and used as seedbeds. They didn’t look scared… But aching for their next visitation. To be filled and to bear brood. The seedbed in front of you laid a clutch, With a sickening squelch. Oh gods! The colony already took your body, How long until your mind follows?

Featuring @baaingatthemoon.bsky.social 's bumbles! As cyborg furry raccoon bumbles!

So the quality is a bit low on this one because the file got corrupted but i got a screenshot of the thumbnail so at least its not a total loss
Oh god oh fuck i was drunk when i made this i dont remember the exact words and i cant really read it anymore. Its a four panel comic the general idea is bumbles asks Alkaline the green anthro mouse, oh bumbles is an anthro raccoon girl that has cyborg parts btw, okay so bumbles asks alk how like her date went or meeting up with someone went and alk starts explaining sarcastically well youre not not maybe supposed to know its sarcastic or maybe the hit with these jokes is that theyre a bluff? Right? Is that the bit actually that theyre lying but its really obvious. Oksy ill let you decide. Thats the real play here so Alkaline (the very green anthro mouse) (shes on a couch every panel btw its not really important but ill throw it in here so you get it (get the vibe) ) okay so alkaline starts explaining to bumbles, bumbles is not on the couch. Oh golly theres no background wall on any of these panels its just a larger image of alkaline on a couch holy shit. Alkaline, the mouse on the couch, says to cyborg furry zombie raccoon bumbles, not on the couch, that alkaline had a great time meeting up with her date. Or fuck maybe it was her sister? But i dont wanna get into like familial stuff. Sorry also not that it would ve like a date date with her sister but like just that she is going out and meeting someone. Its like fine if you wanna date your sister though thats like your business. So alkaline went /somewhere to meet someone/ explains she hsd a good time. I can definitely read "gay as that sounds" so then bumbles asks if she (alkaline (on the couch(the mouse)) the green one) just drank a bunch of cough syrup and missed it. Alkaline replies "Slept for 30 hours" confirming bumbles seeing through the lie or cutting through the sarcasm or whatever. Comics are hard

How we photographed @pretttypriiincesss (IG) big hip tattoo outside, versus how we photographed it inside.
#NoPantsFashion
The image captures a blonde woman in an urban setting at night, illuminated by the ambient glow of streetlights. She stands in the foreground, slightly angled, with her gaze directed towards the viewer, conveying a sense of directness and confidence. Her blonde hair is styled with volume, framing her face, and she wears large hoop earrings. She is dressed in dark, intimate apparel, including a black bra and what appears to be a black garter belt with stockings, which are visible on her legs. A dark, possibly faux fur, coat or jacket is draped over her shoulders, adding a layer of texture and warmth to her ensemble. A prominent black tattoo, resembling a stylized flower or starburst pattern with a central circle and radiating lines, is distinctly visible on her left buttock. Her right leg is bent, and she seems to be kneeling or posing on a low surface, possibly a wooden railing or bench that runs along the left side of the frame. The background is softly blurred, showing the dark silhouettes of buildings and the warm, glowing points of various streetlights and indoor lights, suggesting a bustling cityscape after dark. The ground beneath her is textured and appears to be a mix of concrete and possibly some greenery. The overall lighting is dim and atmospheric, emphasizing the artificial lights of the city and casting soft shadows. The scene evokes a gritty, nocturnal urban mood, focusing on the woman's bold presence and attire amidst the city lights. The image presents a close-up, rear view of a person standing outdoors at night, with a strong focus on their left gluteal region and upper thigh. The individual is partially obscured by a dark, plush coat, possibly made of faux fur, which drapes over their back and right arm, creating a sense of intimacy and partial concealment. A hand with a golden ring on one finger subtly adjusts or holds the coat near the hip. Below the coat, a large, intricate black line-art tattoo is prominently displayed on the glute. The tattoo features a stylized design resembling a flower or a geometric starburst, with a central circular element from which several thick, curving lines radiate outwards, forming petal-like shapes. The skin around the tattoo exhibits some subtle scarring, adding a layer of personal history to the visual. Beneath the tattoo, a black lace-top stocking is visible on the upper thigh, its delicate floral pattern contrasting with the bold lines of the tattoo. The stocking's lace trim, with its intricate details, adds a sensual and textured element to the ensemble. Further up, glimpses of a dark garment or strap, possibly part of lingerie or a harness, can be seen peeking out from under the coat near the hip, hinting at a layered outfit. The overall lighting is dim, characteristic of a nocturnal urban environment, but sufficient to illuminate the textures of the coat, the details of the lace, and the contours of the skin and tattoo. The background is softly blurred, transforming distant streetlights or building lights into warm, glowing bokeh orbs, which suggests a bustling city street at night. The shallow depth of field draws the viewer's attention entirely to the subject, creating an intimate and slightly mysterious atmosphere. The dark clothing, combined with the visible tattoo and suggestive attire, contributes to a mood that could be interpreted as provocative, confident, or artistic expression within an urban nocturnal setting. This striking photograph captures a person, likely a woman, in a vibrant and moody indoor setting, presenting a confident and artistic pose. The subject is seen from the back, turning her head over her left shoulder to gaze directly at the viewer with an intense expression. She has light-colored hair, illuminated by the rich, colorful lighting that dominates the scene. Her upper body is adorned with a dark, voluminous, and fluffy coat, which contrasts with the exposed skin of her lower back, buttocks, and upper thighs. A prominent, stylized outline of a five-petaled flower, drawn in a bold blue line, is visible on her left buttock, serving as a distinct artistic element. Her legs are further encased in dark, knee-high boots. The environment is characterized by dramatic artificial lighting, primarily in intense red/pink and electric blue hues, casting strong shadows and highlights across the subject and the surroundings. On the left side of the frame, a tall, vertical light fixture glows vibrantly in red, while on the right, another vertical light source emits a cool blue light. In the far background, large windows reveal a blurred urban landscape with scattered city lights, suggesting a nocturnal setting within a high-rise building or an establishment overlooking a city. A small table draped with a light-colored cloth, emitting a soft pink glow, is positioned in the lower left corner, adding another element of diffused light. The interplay of strong primary colors and the subject's gaze creates an atmosphere that is both sensual and thought-provoking, evoking a sense of modern artistic expression and nocturnal allure. The textures of the fluffy coat and the smooth skin are subtly emphasized by the directional lighting. The overall composition is dynamic, with the subject as the focal point against a backdrop of urban night and colorful illumination. The close-up image captures a vibrant and dramatic realistic scene, focusing on the upper thigh and hip area of a person bathed in intense red light. The predominant color scheme is a striking combination of crimson and deep shadows, creating a sensual and mysterious atmosphere. On the left side of the frame, a luxurious red furry garment is visible, its soft texture contrasting with the smooth skin of the person. This fur appears to be part of an outfit or accessory, adding to the allure of the scene. The person's skin, heavily saturated with the red light, exhibits subtle contours and highlights, giving it an almost sculptural quality. Prominently displayed on the hip and upper thigh is a bold, black outline drawing resembling a multi-petaled flower or a stylized star. The design, composed of several symmetrical petals originating from a central oval, stands out sharply against the luminous red skin, drawing the viewer's eye. The lighting is a key element of the photograph, casting deep, dark shadows in the background and around the edges of the illuminated form, enhancing the dramatic effect. The backdrop is largely obscured by darkness, with only faint glimmers of light visible in the upper right corner, suggesting a complex interplay of light sources. In the lower left portion of the image, a section of white bedding or fabric is visible, providing a slight contrast to the otherwise intense red and black palette and hinting at an indoor setting, likely a bedroom or a private lounge. The angle of the shot emphasizes the curves of the body, creating a dynamic and engaging composition. The overall mood is one of intimacy and artistic expression, with the strong red light and the graphic body art contributing to a visually striking and evocative narrative. The shallow depth of field keeps the focus squarely on the body and its adornment, blurring out extraneous details and reinforcing the central theme.

its funny how I just realized I was a furry in 2020 when I made some friends that kept calling me one for drawing anthro stuff (because I was obsessed with monsters and stuff since I was young)

it was so normal for me to draw big pecs guys that I never realized I /was/ indeed a furry and into it

not every ethical concern is because something online "happened." Its just when you order something from a big furry merch maker and it shows up with a "made in china" sticker slapped on and falls apart in a week, it makes you pause and wonder how much research into labor practices was done.

status update! (feedback/comments appreciated)
full post: www.furaffinity.net/journal/1142...
#furry
Howdy! I'm back with another update! Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who's followed along and supported my work thus far. I know I haven't been the most consistent with my upload schedule or quality of work, but all the faves and comments I get on my submissions encourage me to keep making the stuff I like making for myself and others. I definitely feel like I've carved myself a little niche here on FurAffinity and made a lot of new friends through here. Secondly, I also recently hit a pretty big milestone - I finished all of my commissions! Technically speaking, anyways; there are a few commissioners who appear to be AWOL, and it's been long enough that I've written down their names but don't intend to continue before proper communication is restored and payment is confirmed. The time spent working on (and worrying about) commissions has kept me pretty consistently busy in between everything else, and now that I've been a few weeks without working on them, it's put me in a much more refreshed state of mind. I'll address my commissions again soon, but there's a collection of other updates I'd like to give first. Sorry if this post comes out like I'm rambling! I wanna do my best to organize all my disorganized thoughts into one post so I can get it all out there. Art studies + looking for feedback It may not come across as very vocal or obvious, but I am pretty extensively self-critical of my work! I certainly fall under the mindset of finding a stage in the art process that feels good enough to continue or settle with, and there are some ideas for illustrations or other creative works I'd like to do I psyche myself out of given the skill expression and time commitment involved. While my other priorities, projects, and general time management capabilities are all a factor as to why I don't think I've been able to consistently improve at or make artwork, it still kind of eats at me that the pictures I can put onto a page aren't what I envision in my head, even as doodles or rough sketches. Now that I don't have a long list of commissions to work through, the time I can spend for myself (in between personal artwork and other projects) can be more comfortably dedicated to doing proper art studies. I've definitely put in some work finding resources and references to work through, but actually getting started and putting up with the process of learning and relearning is its own mountain that seems insurmountably difficult. I honestly wish I had some kind of structure or extrinsic motivation to do so, because a consistent excuse to keep going beyond the general desire of self-improvement hasn't really been enough of a push for me to properly start. Some kind of scheduling does seem nice though; if I can consistently meet up with friends to play The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls Requiem and watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Cowboy Bebop, then I can most certainly come up with some arrangement to practice artwork. (alt text doesn't go this far, read full post at https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/11425200/ ) Plans for commissions Commission openings will eventually return, but not anytime soon. I'm still juggling projects and contract work outside of the artwork I do, and the aforementioned relief of not having a list of commissions to do has helped me be more productive with those things. While I have thought about reopening sooner than later given some enthusiastic demand and the tangible benefit of extra income, I don't think I can safely do so without a bit more time and some changes with how they work. While I previously operated on a system where commissions were perpetually open with no set start or end date, I don't think I want to return to that arrangement. Limiting my slots and structuring my time will allow me to work on projects more reliably, confidently, and comfortably while still satisfying the demand I get for my work. Given I'm still growing as an artist, this side of my art is something I'll also have to learn and experiment with in order to find what fits best for me. My commission form will most certainly be getting an overhaul. Prices will most likely increase or be reevaluated in some way, and specific types of commissions (i.e. types of pixel art and programming work) will be fleshed out in more detail. Finally, I think I'll make a better effort to be clear about communication; adding a line aside from an email address for a preferred method of communication will absolutely be added because of previous experiences. All of these are speculative, and I would absolutely be open to feedback about how I should handle or price things. Finally, with the recent announcements of the new Mega Man title, I absolutely need to do some kind of sale for my boss battle commissions. I think it'd be nice if I could offer to realize people's designs into proper boss battles. Final Thoughts I still got a long way to go in a lot of stuff! I'm still pretty heavily involved in game development work as my main thing, so managing my time to be able to do all the art stuff I wanna do is definitely still gonna be its own challenge on top of everything else. I still haven't been successful in securing any full-time work in the industry, either, but I recently did a portfolio review with an industry veteran, and it was nice to be told that I'm "doing everything right" in terms of my resume. It's crossed my mind to potentially look into starting my own studio, but business management is even scarier than all my worries about my artwork, haha. I also might be an exhibitor and panelist at my first convention. I most certainly won't be using my NSFW name there, but if I do get in, I think I'll mention it somewhere! If you made it this far down on the post, thank you for reading! I've been meaning to make a post like this for a little bit, and I wanted to get it all out there because I'd really value feedback on all these thoughts I've been having. Thank you all again for the support, and have a good day/evening/night!
