Outside owns GaiaGPS, one of the most popular GPS apps.
It also owns TrailForks, a made-in-BC success story used by mountain bikers to manage trail conditions.
I hope these continue to function.

As you may have heard, most (not all) of the people who produce Outside magazine (and the website) were laid off on Thursday. The ex-ME has a complete archive of issues going all the way back to the 1970s. If anybody knows of a library that might want to house these, lemme know.

Heads up to people who use GaiaGPS, some time over the past year they changed a setting and all of the tracks, waypoints and routes you made in that time may have been set to "Public" by default.
The easiest way to set them to private "only you" is on this list page

Informative, but ignores the decline of digital properties tucked into Outside like Trailforks and GaiaGPS.
My Trailforks subscription price quadrupled over a 2 year period, with no notable improvements.
GaiaGPS, rendered flakey by Outside “improvements”, is bleeding users to more reliable apps.

When Outside Magazine took over GaiaGPS, they did some nasty things to privacy, making your profile & tracks public. On iOS, change them in Settings/Account/Privacy and Default Visibility. On Android: Settings/Account/Privacy Controls.

Can I add GaiaGPS to the list.
Also you can make your own geo-referenced maps in QGIS and use Avenza to view them on your phone.

Been using GaiaGPS for many years. I randomly was checking areas in the desert I've been and found a new waypoint someone left? Turned on the satellite layer and.. someone scraped this into the desert varnish. As funny as that is.. please don't vandalize the desert this way.
