On this day 5 years ago, GGPO was fully implemented into the Steam port of Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R. The update also includes player room/replay support additions as well as new training mode features. The update log can be read here:

Skullgirls got to ride the wave of having good online, which Mike took a lot of credit for, but even at the time he'd tell you he had no fucking clue how to do any of that and it's thanks to the Cannon brothers for making GGPO and being able to assist in its addition that SG online was good.

Skullgirls was not special because of Mike, it was just one of the first games to implement GGPO, which Mike didn't make, and having rollback when no one else does makes you look awesome.

I finally received my AYN Thor in the mail. Out of morbid curiosity, there is a GGPO-Z android app that I haven't tried until today. There are 1200 people in the 2002 magic plus lobby, the lobby shows you if someone is on a 4G connection, and everyone I played against put Clark on point. Evil zone

Used to have a tight crew of 3 friends where we constantly played against each other on 3rd strike for hours via GGPO, Supercade, & PS3 (multiplayer nights) while having lots of lols.
We'd have 'challenge nights' of doing fun things we've seen such as who can do three Kuroda triple tatsu's in a row

It is also very funny to me that GGPO-Z advertised itself as "never begging for money" when there is now a paid version of the app, and the free app is riddled with fullscreen ads, banners, and paywalls *replays*! Bunch of bullshit that was.
