Epithelioid GIST can be tricky, especially when metastatic, as it can present variable histomorphology (neuroendocrine-like, plasmacytoid, atypia, etc.) and aberrant staining patterns (e.g. keratin). This is a liver biopsy. #PathSky #GIpath

Apoptotic cell in the colonic mucosa as a sign of (low grade) graft versus host disease - the new (transplanted) immune system is attacking the organs.
Nothing too bad - but immunosuppression of the pt. will need some adjustment.

I think this is a nice example of nodular regenerative hyperplasia of the liver. You can see the nodular architecture produced by alternating hypertrophied and atrophic hepatocytes. No fibrosis. This is a cause of non-cirrhotic portal hypertension #pathsky #gipath #liverpath #pathology

The wording of this diagnosis caught my eye in an old ppt. 32M h/o abd pain and diarrhea after ending steroid therapy for lupus. Histology shows suppurative inflammation limited to the submucosal layer. Phlegmonous enteritis is the given dx, though that seems to be an outdated term. #gipath #pathsky
