Fast forward a little bit and we rebranded to Get Out The Float (GOTF), referencing Get Out The Vote (GOTV). This was not a mistake. A supportive, adjacent reference to citizens of countries who can vote, should and do vote to help make the future that they want.

Sorry I don’t care I love this song. It’s always so sick. Knew it would be so when we heard it on the GOTF tour.

Yeah! I head up there occasionally since the chair of GOTF lives out there.
It's a cute little town, but there is no easy way in or out of there. Especially in winter.

Go check out Fuchsia! Their style was PERFECT for a badge inspired by the dynamic lighting of those GOTF fursuit shots with the ramen lantern.

I -would- volunteer to be an official photographer of GOTF, but, I strictly shoot on 35mm. Also, it's a huge commitment, so I don't want to stress myself out.
I'm doing badge check so I'll just take photos of people then lol

All I can say is they badmouthed GOTF, The con chair, and made accusatory comments before a public statement was put out and an explanation as to why they couldn't be as detailed due to ongoing federal stuff.
So my last memory of this individual was soured at best.
But rest in peace. Too young.

"Hair Boy"
As an avid GOTF fan, I caught that more than likely unintentional reference.

I’ll try GOTF in 2028 methinks. Suiting in an inflatable is so much more work because it soaks up all of your motions. The weather was mild so I didn’t overheat at all, but still had a cold vest on. The batteries might make it 3 hours depending on how many hugs you give out (hug = deflation).

Thought about being a photographer for GOTF but I only use film (and don't develop my own photos), so the logistics would make it challenging
I would rather just keep it to being my hobby

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding what your point was btw! to my understanding this is about the lack of transparency over why they are not doing GOTF this year. Genq did they not make the legal case going on unknown to attendees until recent? Because they been open in other con group chats 😭

WHAT? nah that's crazy. I'll do more research into that aswell but GOTF staff are seeming rly sketchy and it's vry disappointing. They've been posting their GFM in many local chats Im in & get defensive if u question the language they use. Definitely not something I wanna attend or support anymore!

I used to be part of the LOEF started by Baph and left to Queenie and I supported GOTF events monetarily before it was ever an official con. I had forgiven the founder for previously telling me to “Let the door hit [me] on the way out” but I can’t forgive him again now that staff are openly lying.

With heavy hearts, we have to postpone GOTF 2027 to 2028. This is not a decision we take lightly, and we will continue to work from where we needed to stop.
Nobody wants this, but it is the Bestway forward for GOTF.
