this is how finding GPUs goes

1. someone says they have GPUs
2. turns out they are a broker for some other guy
3. that guy doesn't have the GPUs either, they are waiting for a buyer so they can place an order 1/2

during crypto it was not an issue ram was exceptionally cheap, gpus were the sought after thing during that zeitgeist

ai needs both gpus AND ram.

There's this weird drive (first crypto, now this) to run thousands and thousand of gpus together in warehouses. That's the end goal and why they're doing it can change but the gpus MUST run
November 2, 2026 at 12:38 AM
nvidias gonna be selling gpus for two beers next year

Saw this at the YMCA today.

it's expensive to run 9 million GPUs at full tilt

i just need more gpus -> i just need more gpus -> i just need more gpus -> i just need more gpus -> i juist

You laugh but as a full professor I’ve given up high end GPUs. I now can only afford middle tier GPUs. Frame rates have suffered.

Also completely unused GPUs sitting in warehouses because the data centers don't have the power capacity for them
October 30, 2026 at 7:20 PM
These dudes are literally warehousing disconnected GPUs, but people actually wanting to own and use this technology are the problem.
October 30, 2026 at 5:29 PM
What’s bananas is that ram isn’t even going into the cloud, it’s going into GPUs that are sitting in cardboard boxes in warehouses since there’s no place to install them

Out tomorrow morning! Jon and I walk through the whole AI bubble - GPUs in warehouses, Anthropic’s dodgy S-1 and IPO and more.
“For the love of god, get out there and vote.” Jon has a message for 2026 voters, plus an all-new podcast on AI’s looming threat to our financial institutions with Ed Zitron. Drops tomorrow!

Said from atop the hoard of GPUs which cannot be powered on
October 30, 2026 at 8:54 PM
Here I was using a calculator like a schmuck when I could have been using a massive cluster of A100 GPUs instead
November 1, 2026 at 3:20 AM
It's not enough that he and his LLM buddies have driven up the price of memory, storage and GPUs by 300-1200%

Now they think that any components that are not in THEIR hands is a waste of resources.

...

The popping of the AI bubble can't come fast enough.

Im den Bereichen Öl, Gas, RAM und GPUs merken wir gerade, dass wir keinen echten Markt mit Wettbewerb haben, sondern ein klassisches Oligopol.
November 1, 2026 at 5:49 PM
Good. Stop hogging all the gpus and ram!

It feels like everything is outdated the second it comes off the line so it hurts my brain that this scheme is even viable. They are going to trash these gpus in 2 years

gpus so expensive right now wildwood had to use real photons
