#GRNs
* Greens were the only party to gain votes since the previous election (Grns gained ~23,000, NDP lost nearly 300,000, Cons lost ~50,000)

MYC2,3 and 4 combine to control JA responses not just MYC2. MYCs in other species seem to behave similarly which must be by convergent evolution. As such the GRNs linking a MYC to a gene will be very different. Not sure forcing a MYC2 label helps us understand the GRN behavior in another family.

@morningjoe-msnow.bsky.social OK since we were invited to chime in on Joe &Mika's attire by Donnie who wore a V-neck blk T-shirt with blk double breasted blazer=pretty awful! I must say Mika; 🍊 definitely NOT your color EVER; neither is black. Soft pinks. blues, grns; greyed navy is your blk.Joe=OK.

Anyone who recalls UKIP's polling shouldn't have become overexcited by the RFM and GRN surges.

RFM, as they exited the Nebulous Zone and entered that of Going/Needing to Be Defined, was never going to hold over 30%. GRNs were subjected to that more quickly (not sure I ever believed they were 20%+).

NDP may not be the ideal of the ideal, but they still do tons for people. And while even I might throw a vote at the GRNs in other circumstances, they aren't gonna win most places.

Vote splitting just help paves the way for the Cons which no leftist wants to happen

So, choose wisely

A minority ALP with GRNS/IND govt could and would be very feasible.

This is a good example on how classical PHYB-PIF gene regulatory networks are not true for all cell-types.

This creates very exciting opportunities to identify how cell-type specific GRNs are determined during the shade avoidance response.

I hope these datasets help the community!

Genetic circuit rewiring underlies a lineage-specific patterning machinery on butterfly wings
Phenotypes evolve through changes in gene regulatory networks (GRNs), but how changes in network topology contribute to phenotypic evolution is still poorly understood. Butterfly wing color patterns p...

Ppl need to vote STRATEGICALLY in their ridings. If a particular GRN candidate looks strongest in that ridings poll, vote GRN. If it's NDP, vote NDP. But the thing is, GRNs aren't gonna win. Most GRN votes end up a defacto vote for the BCcons! Leftists split the vote and the Con gets in. Let's not

Were Grns (& now-gone poll surge) overly reliant on flaky, nitpicky voters too willing to defect due to trivial policy point disagreements? Or might it be a case that Grns need to reorient towards domestic, 'kitchen table' issues, than act as place for protest vote over less tangible foreign policy?
October 9, 2026 at 3:08 AM
Creative accounting aside, it's a poor showing from the Greens. The left (of Labour) vote remained about the same & Labour comfortably won in a seat Grn would have expected to take 6 months ago. It's likely ZP's populist surge is over but now Grns are saddled with him & the new members he attracted

You don't need to be a billionaire to buy good polling analysis. This aint it.

Nos are for Vic federal subsamples of <400 votes. Start point Jun 2 was an outlier (ON have no other reading above 27 in the series).

End point ian outlier for GRNs and already out of date, now back to 15. #springst

Don't new traits evolve by rewiring of GRNs (which can of course consist of conserved and non-conserved elements)?
September 29, 2026 at 1:31 PM
This observation others w/ #gastruloids on how Matrigel elicits the emergence of somites morphogenesis where somite GRNs are in place or on how spinal cord can refine the patterning of somites. All about higher order organizing interactions between cell populations. #Codevelopment #NotInTheGenes

GRNs members already have an incredibly democratic (id also say good) method of pre-selecting their candidates, senators exc, so those reps are to a large extent reflective of the membership

and i think the 'knowing them personally' actually does matter
September 29, 2026 at 9:26 AM
New traits (or phenotypes as can be fuzzy) can evolve by rewiring GRNs or adding new flux paths to rewire metbolism. But I have seen papers saying if a TF controls an “old” trait like a specific cell type then the TF must be old regardless of the gene tree. Swap out cell type for other “old” traits.

Am I misreading this, or does that data say the Grns' vote share has barely increased on 2024 in Grn-facing Lab seats, despite large drop in Lab's vote share?

If so, surprising; has Burnham near-wholly reversed any Starmer-caused Lab->Grn voter defection, or was there never much in the first place?
September 27, 2026 at 5:25 PM
While this 'Burnham bounce' is significant, it does still leaves the party trailing their 2024 vote share by a substantial margin at present, though there are upsides beyond his, with LD and Grns now more receptive to tactically voting for Labour:
What is the tactical voting landscape in September 2026?
There has been an increase in pro-Labour tactical voting across the board since February, while Reform UK have fallen behind in key contests
