Srinivasan was a PhD candidate at GSAPP. The conduct of this department, one of the most prominent architecture schools in the country, is appalling
Columbia University grad student whose ‘self-deportation’ was celebrated by DHS explains how she was hounded by ICE—despite ‘legal’ status and lack of involvement with encampment—and utterly abandoned to her fate by the university.

También sería interesante que la Oficina para la Innovación Política, cuyo creador es Dean Professor del GSAPP de Columbia, hiciera honor a su nombre.

I typically over-prepare for *everything*, but sometimes it's cathartic to be forced to extemporize. Like just now: I gave an hour-long guest lecture in Marina Otero's GSAPP class, I winged the whole damn thing, and it was actually great! I need more strategic spontaneity in my professional life :)

So after Ranjani Srinivasan was hounded by Ice, who revoked her student visa on the basis of her political speech, and was forced to flee the country, Columbia the Shameful disenrolled them as a student.

Words truly fail to say how absurd this is.

Here @ Columbia GSAPP for the Fitch Colloquium, abt repairing design education — I appreciate Deborah Berke’s acknwldgmt that demolition is violence, and that all pedagogy + practice should prioritize the minimization of violence; deconstruction instead allows for disassembly and reuse
