GURPS lets you be anyone you want in any world you can imagine. Elves in fantasy, Musketeers in historical France, action heroes or superheroes in today's world, futuristic space explorers, cartoon characters . . . GURPS provides tools for all this and more!

Love it. GURPS was my 1st RPG love and I am always excited to hear about folks campaigns

Or GURPS Fantasy II? My canonical source for weird immortal elf magic systems.

It's all about those GURPS notes. Don't tell @sjgames.com

Always great when the Daily Bunny goes full movie. Also, implying an epic campaign of GURPS Bunnies & Burrows 😆

I’ve played serious games with GURPS Ultra-lite.

Which fits in most wallets easily.

If you've played a traveller campaign, or run one, tell me about your spaceship.

Rifts would be the one with MegaDamage.

GURPS can get awfully tactical (just ask Hans-Christian Vortisch) but you could run heists with GURPS Lite and Combat Cards without getting too deep in the weeds.

I don't need to model HyperDamage or whatever is going on in GURPS; I mean a dedicated system meant for modern cyberpunk-like heists but with more tactical complexity and planning; not just shooting but like, rushing doors and tricking guards and stuff.

I'm really enjoying Cindy's podcast (and recommend the whole back catalogue of the EFF podcast, they're mostly evergreen). There's a side story mentioned that is absolute bonkers: How the Secret Service raided Steve Jackson Games because they thought GURPS Cyberpunk was a hacking manual.
Former EFF Executive Director Cindy Cohn talks with Daniel Bernstein, whom she represented in a landmark legal case 30 years ago that set the stage for the modern internet - and with the DOJ lawyer who opposed them. Hear Ep.2 of our "Privacy’s Defenders" podcast: “No Privacy Without Encryption.”
Privacy's Defenders Podcast: No Privacy Without Encryption
Three decades ago, the U.S government treated encryption like a weapon, and it took some unlikely heroes to set it free: a grad student, a junior lawyer, and a fledgling digital rights group who sued ...

I rearranged some of my boxed sets yesterday and made a discovery in the process. I couldn’t remember if I had any of the Gangbusters modules so I opened the box to see. What I found instead was TWERPS (The World's Easiest Role-Playing System), an 80s parody RPG of GURPS and other complicated games.

The snippet is from GURPS Cyberpunk, not Cyberworld. My mistake. Had them open side by side wanting to comment on the illustrations in the latter which are excellent (by artist Dan Smith).

This is a big part of why I have difficulty classifying GURPS as a "system" as opposed to an "engine", precisely *because* it is so modular
October 30, 2026 at 4:10 PM
GURPS already has most of the pieces for something like that, albeit mostly scattered across a bunch of Pyramid articles.

GURPS scales down pretty well, but CP2020 (and presumably the new one) is great for medium gun wank
November 2, 2026 at 6:36 AM
GURPS, RIFTS, TORG.

I had a feast of extra dimensional delights. And I gorged myself upon it. Reality is folding into each other. The maze mind exists. And I embrace it.
