a lot of politics make sense when you remember that the longest trifecta since the 60s is GWB getting 4.5 years
an underrated factor of "why is everything so shit" is that we haven't had stable congressional majorities in 20 years, congress doesn't know how to congress because it hasn't congressed in decades, and most of congresses procedures suck which makes the rest of the government suck
would love to see a progressive think tank take direct aim at the congressional budget process, because god what a stupid stupid thing
