JAWS turns had a profound effect on me lasting years. As a kid anytime I couldn’t see the bottom I was filled with dread. I thought about the movie even in the bathtub or pool. I had a big shark bump me once; that settled it. full blown Galeophobia selachophobia Carcharhinaphobia Thalassophobia

Perhaps this is why the word "galeanthtropy"—which should mean "weasel-person-ness"—is the delusion or dream that you are a cat (the equivalent of "lycanthropy" or "cynanthropy")

I have severe galeophobia so of course one of my level ideas is a fraction of LA that sank into the coast and you're hopping rooftops in shark-infested waters
You die if you hit the water anyways but having a shark burst out of the water for flair feels like taming the hellbeast in my mind.

Sadly, this story does cast doubt on my "POTUS has debilitating galeophobia" theory for why he didn't go
(I hope and assume) he would have had to fight the entire security state apparatus in order to attend (and obvs neither he nor Jr. cared enough to make it possible for him to be there)
