There has been talk of improving public transport and active travel infrastructure in #GalwayCityOfCarCulture for the past 25 years or more.

Anyone remember the Galway Transport Unit, launched in 2008? It promised much, delivered damn all.

Smarter Travel, 2009? Huge ambition, massive failure.

Meanwhile, in #GalwayCityOfCarCulture, it is literally illegal to travel by bike to the school gate in some situations.

Time to introduce Bluesky to #GalwayCityOfCarCulture.

1. Motorists are still driving along the footpath on Kingston Road near the Threadneedle junction.

2. Muddy tracks left by a large vehicle in the "bike lane" on Threadneedle.

3. Dished kerb helps the driver of a large 4WD jeep go "off road".
