Earlier this month the UK Government opened a new Call for Evidence (CfE) on the subject of gamebirds. It closes on November 1st 2026.

We do not need to find a better way to breed birds to be shot. We need to stop breeding birds to be shot. Anyone can respond. Defra's call for evidence is open until the 1st of November 2026.

Defra’s gamebird Call for Evidence asks about effects on Red List species. Curlew has been on the UK Red List since 2015.

That is why we are revisiting a 2023 study: 1.05 fledglings per pair on keepered grouse moors, against 0.27 without predator control.

Defra's gamebird Call for Evidence has 30-plus questions. Everyone must answer Q1–6, but you can focus the rest on what you know.

Our route finder matches bird records, habitat work and wildfire experience to the relevant questions. Deadline: 1 November.

Good. The public needs to get involved and call out these criminals and hold their employers to account. Any gamebird shoot owner whose employee commits wildlife crime should be liable for their actions under the law and face similar criminal prosecution.

We’ve published our draft response to Defra’s gamebird Call for Evidence, together with evidence and guidance for estates making their own submissions.

You can comment by 16 Oct. We’ve also produced guidance to help you submit your own evidence to Defra by 1 November.

This is the Pitts that we used to fly. My guy traded in his Pitts for a Gamebird. And yes, we do aerobatics in both.

Fill it out: consultations.defra.gov.uk/call-for-evi... - & if appropriate, depending circumstances, challenge keepers/guns for hire if you see them shooting, ask if they have a licence, what they are shooting, permission, even if answers r obvious. Lets them know the public know the law, & care.
