I'm convinced working N64 Game Sharks simply do not exist. I think they write the codes to EEPROM or something. Aren't those super volatile? These were always magical. I'd spend all day going to Gamewinners, printing out pages of codes. You could say I cheated not only the games, but myself.

The final straw for me was getting a comical amount of pushback for having the nerve to implement a policy where we need proof for any proposed unlock methods after someone kept insisting Gamewinners is a solid source so that checks out. I miss that wiki like I miss some tooth cavities.

Whenever I see someone reference "the old internet", I remember aol chat rooms and tripod free websites and flash browser games and submitting cheat codes to gamewinners. Shit makes me feel like the goddamned Onceler because I was there to contribute and shape it, and it's become a disappointment.
