Gamepadla.com has recorded latency for sticks and buttons on controllers, and high end controllers like the Vader 5 Pro have really low latency. I find that increasing the in game sensitivity on control sticks helps controllers get closer to using a mouse in a 1st person game. Have a good day!

what i really want in life is basically just a dualsense with hall sticks which is why i want a steam controller but gamepadla.com has a really nice filter function to look for controllers that have the things you want

Yeah they did something with the outer membrane is my understanding. I still haven't seen Gamepadla tests on it though so who knows, but I've read it feels nicer.

I guess you could search for controllers that either have Hall effect or TMR joysticks in them, which are designed to prevent drifting.
