Hogwarts Legacy

Extremely twee in it's scripting and voice acting. This open world game does plenty if you want to experience the wizarding world.

Not every game needs an ending to leave a mark.

Here’s the journey so far: worlds explored, stories paused, battles survived, and a few wonderful detours still waiting for me. These are the games I’ve experienced in 2026, finished or not. 🎮✨

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (PS1)

One of a small number of movie tie in games that are decent. Changes the story slightly to fit a game, but plays well. And birthday the legendary Hagrid Meme

Sonic the Hedgehog (Megadrive)

As much as I love this game, it's level design has been improved upon since, and the 3 act per level leaves some of these levels to wear out their welcome before too long. Still a great play.

Rocket Knight Adventures (MD/Gen)

Brutally difficult, but with a great art design, and varied bosses make this a memorable game for all who enjoy a challenging Mascot Platformer.

I'm curious what everyone's most anticipated games of 2026 are?
So far, for me, it's FE Fortune's Weave, RE Requiem, and Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter.

What's Yours?

For the first time, I've beaten the Driver intro level/tutorial.

Its been so long since I've even taken a stab at it.

Its oddly easier than I remember.

#GamesOf2026 First one to roll credits on:

Streets of Rage 4:

I know this is gonna have a few replays but for 1 playthrough of the critical path I can safely say I have done 1 so far. A great addition to the franchise, and makes me wanna go back and replay the other 3.

Cruelty Squad

Having just beaten the critical path, I'm now working towards all the secret levels, alternative endings, weapon and gadget unlocks. I love this surreal dystopian cyberpunk fever dream.

#Gamesof2026 Game #13

Returnal

An arcady bullet hell trip though a cosmic horror backdrop. I love this game and its story. balance can be a bit botched form time to time, but then you just have another go and try again.

HROT

3 Episodes of pure Soviet atmosphere in boomer shooter form. A great play, and it gets surreal quickly.
I highly recommend this game to any who are looking for a good Quake-like

Doom: The Dark Ages

A fun brutal rip through the demon hordes once again. I love that Chainsaw Shield. A bit lore and story heavy (Which wasn't needed), but a great balance of fun and challenge. (Beaten on Ultra-Violence)

The Terminator (Megadrive)

For years I tried to get through this game, either getting stuck on the Police station level, or what turned out to be the final level.

I love this game, just wish it was a little longer.

#Gamesof2026 Game #8

We Happy Few (Arthur's Story)

I had a good time with this after leaving it sit for a while. It still would have been far better as a slightly more linear immersive sim like Bioshock, but the world is interesting, and the art direction is fantastic.

#Gamesof2026 Game #7

System Shock (2023)

It's been a very long time since I ventured into the floors of Citadel Station. I forgot how hard this game is, but it's well worth your time, and make sure to take notes as you play so you don't have to spend hours back tracking later on.

Duke Nukem Time to Kill (PS1)

My first console foray into Duke nukem (DN3D was played on PC), it holds a special place in my heart even if it is one of the weaker titles. The Tomb Raider like mechanics kind of work for it. I wish it would get a full remake.

#Gamesof2026 Game #4

Ghost in the Shell (PS1)

One of the best 3rd person action games of the era, criminally underrated at the time, and a nightmare to get hold of. I finally managed to do a full run of this, and I now have to re-watch all of G.I.T.S, series and all.

Well now that I've finished Deus Ex, it's only logical that I now play its infamous sequel, Deus Ex: Invisible War.

Achievement unlocked: finally finished Deus Ex (for the first time ever). A magnificent ride of a game, whose legendary status is well-deserved.

It is a joyous and wonderful thing to discover that one of the best games ever made (Deus Ex) name-drops one of the greatest authors in the English language (Thomas Pynchon). Fantastic!

#Gamesof2026 Game #14

G-Rebels

While only chapter 1 is available for Early Access players currently, I can safely say this game is a good fun cyberpunk flight sim. A Spiritual successor to G-Police on the PS1, and I am loving it.

#Gamesof2026 Game #10

We Happy Few

After finishing all 3 stories in the main game I can say now that this game is far better than I had initially expected. The lacklustre social stealth, and combat mechanics are bad, but to be fair, the story makes up for it. Worth a play.

Robocop Vs Terminator (Megadrive/Genesis)

Abusing Save states was an absolute must for this game. As hard as it is fun. One of my all time favourites on the Megadrive/Genesis, but fighting Skynet was rage inducing. Glad to finally see credits roll on it.

Dragonball Advance Adventure (GBA)

A great action platformer that also features 1v1 fighter elements and some other minigames thrown in for good measure.

I love this game, but I much prefer the Action Platforming sections over the 1v1 fighting.
