If you're using Windows 11, Microsoft is now surveilling you in a new way. This may already be turned on on your computer, and you would not be notified; it activates whenever they detect you are in a "game", which in my experience Microsoft often false-positives on

The valve box may not be for everyone and have to see what it coasts but the idea of pc style gaming without windows is probably super compelling for meany right now with windows 11 being what it is.

Some of the last reasons to stay on Windows have been gaming related. Both the time from installation to in-game and gaming performance on Bazzite are now actually better than Windows on many games, and living room usability is more seamless too.

People talk about this stuff in terms of how much it'll suck for gaming and I hate to inform you how many MRI machines, X-Rays, all sorts of other vital machinery are just a Windows IoT Edition PC in a beige plastic box with a big magnet/accelerator/whatever attached.

windows pcs are generally for casual users who mostly use it for web browsing and maybe a little gaming. linux is nearly identical except there's no keyboard. macs are for hardcore experts and professionals who take on the toughest tasks, such as drawing three-dimensional rectangles and squares

I think the key part of the next-gen Xbox platform video today was Sarah Bond’s mention of ensuring “Windows is the number one platform for gaming.” Notice the focus on Windows as the top platform for gaming, not Xbox as we know it today
