Exciting day at work today. There was a massive fire just down the street. Black smoke, explosions, shit-tonne of fire engines. Most exciting thing that has happened since workmen hit a gasline and we were all evacuated. Also, no one was hurt.

I've lived in Alaska for over 50 years and the gasline has been part of the political/economic discussion all those years. But never have I seen actually doing an LNG operation on the slope and shipping it out in tankers a possible alternative. Even with climate warming there's too much ice.
