COMIC PANEL 1: A pair of human auxilia soldiers, clad in olive green armor and grey khakis, stroll along a ruined culvert, the chipped and weathered greyish brickwork rolling past as they walk, rifles shouldered. One of the two soldiers turns his golden visor's face towards the other, addressing them. DIALOGUE- AUXILIARY 1: "So, Gendrin... got any useful pointers I could use on my first deployment alongside transhumans?" AUXILIARY 2 (Gedrin): "Right, I keep forgetting you're the new guy. Well, first off, every "Brother" is different. Even with the matching armor, each one has their own personality..." AUXILIARY 1: "... should I be worries that this is starting to sound like dating advice?" AUXILIARY 2 (Gedrin): "Shut up, Merek, it's important. Knowing who your fireteam is and how they act in a crisis can save your life... and make downtime easier." AUXILIARY 2 (Gedrin): "For example, Marksman Jun is the smartest trooper in the squad. He's got steady hands and a quick mind, so he's a good fit for the sniper... you can trust your life to his aim, but don't play billiards with him, he'll clean you out." COMIC PANEL 2: The panel focuses on a different pair of human soldiers, wearing similar armor to the two in the first panel, save for a lack of helmets. Instead, they both wear heavy green plastic rebreather masks. The masculine soldier on the left panel has close cropped salt-and-pepper hair and bushy eyebrows. His hands are out of panel, but held in a way to suggest he's nursing some kind of small arm. The more femme-presenting soldier on the right has maple brown hair pulled into a tight pony tail, and a scar running along the right side of her face, from temple to cheek. She's holding a heavy metal rifle with a massive, revolver style mechanism in the middle. DIALOGUE- AUXILIARY 2 (Gedrin): "Meanwhile, Sergeant Major Velk is pretty much a 'by-the-book' kinda guy. He'll turn a blind eye to anything during rec hours, but on mission you had best dot your 'i's and cross your 't's." AUXILIARY 2 (Gedrin): "Specialist Madeline is a badass. She was a sapper, but she got reassigned for disciplinary reasons. Don't test her, she'll floor you." AUXILIARY 1 (Merek): "Okay, that's all good to know, but what about *the big guy*?" COMIC PANEL 3: The frame focuses on a hulking humanoid figure wearing the cyan blue power armor of the Knights Numenarie. Their body is completely encased in massive ceramic plates, like an insane parody of medieval knights of old. A bold silver set of wings decorates their breastplate, with a glowing green oval stone inset into the center. Above a high collared curiase, a heavy-browed helmet peers with two glowing green optics. DIALOGUE- AUXILIARY 2 (Gedrin): "Ah, that would be 'Ace'." AUXILIARY 1 (Merek): "... That can't be his name." AUXILIARY 2 (Gedrin): "'Brother-Knight Alden Rossel of the Thirteenth Black Ring, Third Circle of the Knights Numenarie' is a bit of mouthful." COMIC PANEL 4: The panel focuses on the same hulking Knight Numenarie, but a sharp sound like the breaking of glass catches their attention, and their armored bulk snaps towards the sound so quickly that their optics and glowing chest ornament trace trails of light. DIALOGUE- AUXILIARY 2 (Gedrin): "Knights Numenarie can weave nice speeches for political leaders, but in the trenches, they become *killers*. *You'll see it*. It's like a light goes out, and all that's left of them is a *weapon*.." AUXILIARY 2 (Gedrin): "It's scart as hell, but when it happens, you'll know that shit has gone d-"

COMIC 10, PANEL 1 A human soldier stands in a dim, bricked culvet. Violet shards of glass-like projectiles stick out of his helmet and back as he slumps down, another soldier reaching out in panic. DIALOGUE: AUXILIARY 1 (Merek): "GEDRIN!!!" COMIC 10, PANEL 2 A large, armored reptilian talon steps from the dark, crushing an iron pipe beneath it's weight. The figure is illuminated only by the purple light emanating from the weapon it carries and the violet crystal ammunition that powers it. DIALOGUE: AUXILIARY 1 (Merek): "Gedrin! Terra lost, hang in ther-" UNKNOWN ALIEN (in alien language): "CHILDREN." UNKNOWN ALIEN (in alien language): "ALL OF YOU, CHILDREN. STUMBLING IN THE DARK." COMIC 10, PANEL 3 With a clawed hand resting on the brickwork, a saurian figure emerges. It's gray scaly skin is covered in golden armor, trimmed in white and attached with leather belts. It's head terminates in a short snout filled with sharpened teeth, and it's eyes glow a brilliant shade of cyan. The only other light that illuminates it is the violet glow from it's strange white sidearm, which upon closer inspection almost looks like a face. DIALOGUE: UNKNOWN ALIEN (in alien language): "LONG BEFORE THE FOLLY OF STOUTKIN DRAGGED YOU TO THIS PLACE-" UNKNOWN ALIEN (in alien language): "-THESE WORLDS WERE OURS." COMIC 10, PANEL 4 The Saurian steps out of the dark beyond the crumbling wall, emerging into the moonlight. It's golden armor with white time both highly advanced and simple in design. A bright glowing light that matches it's shining eyes burns from it's chestplate. It draws a long, rectangular club decorated with strange glowing runes and searing plasma edges. Behind it, other raptor-like figures emerge, clad in similar, if less ornate, golden armor and bearing similar weapons of violet glass and cyan plasma. DIALOGUE: UNKNOWN ALIEN (in alien language): "AND THEY WILL BE AGAIN, BY COMMAND AND PROPHECY OF THE MAGES" UNKNOWN ALIEN (in alien language): "SO TAKE TO YOUR HEELS, CHILDREN OF TERRA. FLEE THIS WORLD." UNKNOWN ALIEN (in alien language): "OR DONT." UNKNOWN ALIEN (in alien language): "I CARE NOT HOW YOU SPEND YOUR TINY LIFE."

The character of Gedrin is also odd. They never really establish why exactly he's willing to betray his people and give his life for Voyager. He's just a really nice guy, I guess. If it's not clear, this episode is a bit choppy – not awful, but uneven. You can tell it was cut down from a two-parter.
