#GenAI@work
In the past month I’ve had to talk one of my best friends out of using genAI, had a crush/situationship fizzle out, dealt with construction and three changed schedules at work and now one of my fav video essayists turns out to be terrible. Aside from swordfighting this month has been Rough

A course on #copilot I'm taking at work says, quote, "There's ongoing debate about the copyright implications of code generated from trained models". Microsoft of all companies should've thought about this twice before pushing for adoption, but it seems they'll YOLO it in court instead. #llm #GenAI

The silver lining is that it gives me another reason to quit the servers relying on GenAI and not look back. I'm already putting enough free time into FFXIV and EQ Legends, and I want to work on other things after scratching my Number Go Up itch.

I tried for a while to always say "ML", "LLMs", or "GenAI", as appropriate, and honestly -- between work and social media -- I just gave up.

An AI model becomes more useful when it can work with relevant external information. Databases, documents, APIs, and retrieval systems can provide additional context for intelligent applications. An Agentic AI Course in Kerala.

Hopefully this will work great. I do worry that the second option might incentivise people to mark genAI works incorrectly to bypass, but at the very least it lets jam hosts clearly draw a line in that sand that genAI is not welcome.
Kudos to @itch.io for the new "submission requirements" options for hosting game jams! 🕹️

Stock Music Composers: All my work is hand-crafted because I respect my artistic medium of choice too much to ever besmirch it with that vile GenAI stuff

Btw. I think I will stop calling vibecoders vibecoders & call them GenAi leeches because that's what they are, leeches

They don't produce anything, they attach themselves & parasitize existing work, sucking up the blood from communities & hobbies

Don't give them the grace of coding, say leech

and especially never as the author, if it’s been anywhere near GenAI. Clients could lie to me (and I suspect some have), but that’s on them, not me. I’m incredibly clear on my website that I will NOT work with AI written or assisted drafts. Lying about it shows you know AI is wrong.

This reminds me how in video games in porn and porn-adjacent titles genAI use is sadly pretty prolific, but there's some notable creators loudly rejecting it

AND THEN there's a strip mahjong game in the works where the devs are putting tons of work into the strip animations, like above and beyond

I am BAFFLED at these people. I am CONSTANTLY trying to evade genAI because it makes my work and my life more difficult and it annoys the FUCK out of me every day.

AND ANOTHER THING remember when genAI images were really shit in this new distressing way? Like three people did some super cool collage work combining weird ai shit to make cool new creepyaf art.

You can make art out of anything. AI can't make art, you're just republishing stock photos.
any artist who primarily uses generative "AI" to make their art is a poser. any artist who cannot fathom giving up the use of a technology that came out like three years ago in their art practice is a fucking sell-out. there simply is not enough material wealth in art to justify such naked laziness.
October 1, 2026 at 2:01 AM
Like, autism special interest or not, I put in the work not only in drawing but also adjunct skills like 3D, design etc all that while people were telling me my skills were 'useless'

Then now that people can see value in the arts, artists are 'gatekeeping' for saying not to use GenAI? Bruh

We really should be swapping "vibe coding" for "cuck coding"

They just sit there, while the genai does all the work(and still fail) while said cuck gives directions and watches on.

I'm admittedly not familiar with George Saunders or his work but this interview is brilliant and puts so many of my thoughts and feelings on GenAI into words that I very much resonate with. I highly recommend people read this regardless of if you're for/against it

Gonna let the record stand before it happens that if you use AI for art and claim it as your own work or in general think GenAI is okay then this is not a safe space for you because I do not support GenAI and I do not support people who downplay actual artists because it's "faster".

I work in a field with a lot of creative types – writers, photographers, videographers, graphic designers – and the genAI use here has absolutely led to less human jobs and less humans using their creative skills, and they're just...fine with that?? 🤦 Some days it really gets to me.
