In June 1902, Henry Jackson broke into a South London home and stole some billiard balls. He left his thumbprint on a freshly painted windowsill and became the first person in Britain convicted based on fingerprint evidence.

I have a tall tale that proved to be true. One of my ancestors was alleged to have made 3,000 coffins and this fact was recorded on his gravestone. Turns out it was a different ancestor, and the figure was 6,600 … but it *IS* on his gravestone. #GenealogyStories #FamilyHistory #Writing
